Discovering Olympic Weightlifting ….Twice ?!?
I first discovered weightlifting when I was working in a gym in 1984, I completed the BAWLA (British Amateur Weightlifting Association) coaching course which was led by Keith Morgan. Keith coached a number of women who were in the GB team, saw my potential and encouraged me to join a club… I was hooked from Day 1. By 1990 I was in the GB national squad and represented GB in many international events.
I rediscovered WL in 2021 when training to get fit for my 60th Birthday, after 1 year of general fitness and strength training decided to compete again….
